Zhu Pei Option Studio Final Review was held at Harvard University, GSD
On May.2nd 2018, Zhu Pei Option Studio Final Review was held at Harvard University, GSD. The Studio theme is “Root: Rediscovery of Jingdezhen Contemporary”. The Blue and White Porcelain Museum was regarded as the studio design project. Professor Zhu was trying to guide the students to explore the possibilities of integrating this relic site and a museum into the public space systems. Though studying the historical buildings, kiln complexes and materials of Jingdezhen, students can discover the roots related to local nature, climate, culture, and history, then help realizing the essential of architecture.
A number of famous architects were invited to participate in teaching and evaluating, including Dean of Harvard University GSD Mohsen Mostafavi, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs of Harvard University GSD K. Chow, Assistant Professor at Tsinghua University Architecture School Zhou Rong, Founder of SO-IL Liu Jing and etc.
