Zhu Pei and Mohsen Mostafavi, Dean of the Harvard University Graduate School of Design visit in Jingdezhen
On August 5, Zhu Pei and Mohsen Mostafavi, dean and the Alexander and Victoria Wiley Professor of Design at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, with Li Xiangning, deputy dean and full professor in history, theory and criticism at Tongji University College of Architecture and Urban Planning, have a business visit in Jingdezhen. Zhong Zhisheng, municipal party secretary of Jingdezhen, on behalf of the municipal party committee and municipal government, welcomed the visit of Zhu and Mostafavi. Meanwhile, Liu Feng, member of the standing committee, executive vice mayer, and Sun Gengjiu, vice chairman of the CPPCC attend the meeting.
Zhong said, Jingdezhen hope that they can take advantage of the academic influence of GSD, to process in-depth cooperation and participation in the design, urban planning and construction of the city. During the meeting, Mohsen had a great discussion with Zhong about Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Museum with the planning and construction of its surrounding blocks, and core historical area with peripheral area development. Now Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Museum is in the process of construction and has been designed by Studio Zhu-Pei. Zhu said that the office is actively cooperating with the construction unit and strictly controlling the quality of construction.
After the meeting, Zhu and Mohsen Mostafavi visited Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Museum. Mohsen approved the construction of the project and implied that he was looking forward to its completion.
