Public Mind Landscapes: A Dialogue on the Exhibition of Selected Projects of Studio Zhu-Pei at the Aedes Gallery in Berlin
Recently, World Architecture has made an exclusive report of the solo exhibition of Studio Zhu-Pei at the Aedes Gallery, Berlin. In the eight-pages of exclusive report, the concept of this exhibition and the meaning of the five projects at the same period have been reflected.
In the brilliant conversation between Mr. Zhu and Dr. Fan of the Tsinghua University from the magazine, Zhu said that “the core of architecture is not the simple presence of the nature, but is the recreation of the nature, which is more about the nature from inner world instead of the simple presence of the nature world.” Dr. Fan said that “what Zhu’s work is the perfect representation of his inspiration and form of the inner landscape. But deeply, it reinforces the strong publicity rather than closed inner space, which allows the inner world open to the public, to arouse public events and activities."
In the article, the author Mohsen Mostafavi, dean of Harvard Graduate School of Design, claims that "Zhu's work has already shown his magnificent contribution for the Chinese contemporary architecture evolution. They not only show the relationship between architecture and landscape, but also shows how to realize the illustration of “artistic conception” in the reality through different designs of architects.
Rong Zhou, a famous architecture critic and professor of architecture school of Tsinghua University, states in the article 'Hui Xin', "As a one of the most influential Chinese contemporary architect and the craftsman of the time, what Zhu's recently projects demonstrated is “Xin Xiang Shi Jing ", which is the combination of the architecture and time with ever-changing conditions."
