Prof. Zhu Pei be invited to deliver a lecture at the Société Française des Architectes, Paris, France
2025.06.06On June 5, 2025, at 7:30 PM Central European Time (CET), Zhu Pei has been invited to deliver a lecture titled "Architecture of Nature: An Experimental Approach" at the Société Française des Architectes in Paris.
The lecture focuses on a series of Studio Zhu Pei‘s recent projects, including the Imperial Kiln Museum in Jingdezhen, the Majiayao Ruins Museum and Observatory, and the Shou County Culture and Arts Center. Through these case studies, Mr. Zhu offers an in-depth exploration of his architecture philosophy “architecture of nature”—a reflection on long temporal scales, rooted in the wisdom of Chinese tradition, and an inquiry into how architecture can achieve enduring presence both ecologically and culturally. This approach is embodied in the distinct tectonic strategies and material choices of each project.
The Société Française des Architectes is an independent academic institution dedicated to advancing architectural thought and cultural exchange. Its lecture series brings together leading architects and theorists from around the world, creating a cross-cultural and interdisciplinary platform. This lecture represents an important exchange between Studio Zhu Pei and the French architectural community, enabling the "natural architecture" philosophy and its practice to attract more attention and discussion from European architects.
